Content
Computational Social Choice (COMSOC) studies methods for collective decision making at the interface of Computer Science and Economics. It investigates how individual preferences of multiple agents can be aggregated into a collective decision. The field combines questions about fairness and rationality with computational issues such as efficiency and complexity.
In this seminar, students will explore selected topics in COMSOC, ranging from fundamental topics to research-oriented questions. Participants of the seminar will independently work on assigned topics, present their topic in seminar talks and write a summary of the work. The seminar talks will be organised in a block format with two to three sessions held toward the end of the semester.
The seminar presentations can be held in German or English.
